Bit Makers Contest

Californios Bit Making Contest to come to a close
After 7 years of quality, The Californios will no longer host its Traditional Bit Makers Contest.
"The bits that were submitted these past years were exceptional, and we are proud to have had them at our show" Gwynn Turnbull Weaver states. "We have decided to put our energies towards our new DVD projects, in hopes of reaching more people and further fostering an interest in the traditional disciplines".

The bit makers contest started back in 2001, the second year of the Ranch Roping and Stock Horse Contest. "I've met some great bit makers and wish them the best. I want to thanks Dick Deller for his years of service as one of our judges and I also want to thank Merrilee Morrell Doss for service and support with the contest." Merrilee will still be bringing the incredible bit collection assembled by her late father Richie Morgan, (California bridlehorseman and collector) for display, as always at The Californios. Hats off to the great bit makers who competed at The Californios!
